What is an epistle? Simply put, an epistle is a letter. These letters were the means the apostles and other writers used to communicate God’s will to Christians when they could not do so in person (1 Corinthians 14:37; Ephesians 3:3-4). The epistles were also written to remind and encourage Christians to remain faithful to the Lord (Hebrews 13:22; 2 Peter 1:12-15; 1 John 2:12-14).

The 21 epistles in the New Testament vary in their content. Some are written to local churches; some are written to individuals; and some are written to Christians at large. Some are easy to read and understand, while others deal with complex doctrinal matters. Many of them combine “meaty” doctrine with practical application.

This workbook is a survey of the New Testament epistles. The lessons consider the reason each epistle was written, summarize its contents, and highlight important truths that we can use in our daily lives.

Written at a 9th grade level, contains 13 lessons, each with discussion questions
