Learning How to Listen When God's Word Is Being Taught

The goal of this material is to train teenagers to become effective listeners when God's word is being taught. There is a great need to work with our young people in this area. The class is designed to be more than just discussion. Students will actually be practicing the art of better listening as a part of their work for the class. The subject matter will be drawn from the sermons the students hear and then analyzed by them.
The first class talks about the importance of listening and how to become a better listener. Then, the students are responsible for taking notes on a sermon that is preached. Before coming back to class, each student analyze the sermon identifying the theme, main points, and ways the sermon applies to their lives. At the next class period, discuss the analysis and application of the sermon with the students.
