What has been labeled "The Sermon on the Mount," known more generally from Matthew, chapters 5 through 7, has been the topic of many a sermon and the challenge of many a private study. Perhaps the part that is more widely known comes from Matthew 5:3-11, commonly referred to as "The Beatitudes," meaning "supreme blessedness or happiness." One could spend a lifetime on the great thoughts contained in these few verses and never exhaust their depth and meaning.
